Buddha is in the
abhaya mudra, also known as the gesture of protection and
fearlessness. The
abhaya mudra represents the Buddha's protection from all
of the fears of cyclic existence. Lord Buddha is standing on a
lotus blossom in front of a Bodhi tree, where he achieved enlightenment, or Bodhi.
The sun behind his head represents wisdom. This panel
