Cambodian Buddha Panel in Dhyana Mudra
This Buddha panel was
recently carved from an antique piece of wood. The Buddha is seated on a
large decorated platform. He is seated in the
dhyana mudra.
Dhyana mudra is the hand gesture of meditation, concentration of the Good Law
and of the attainment of spiritual perfection. It indicates the perfect
balance of thought, rest of the senses and tranquility. The Buddha has a
spire rising from the top of his head which symbolizes the Buddha's radiant
spiritual energy.
Behind the Buddha's head is a beautiful godly halo.
This panel is perfect
for leaning against or hanging on a wall.
Though the panel was
recently carved it has the appearance of being a true antique. The antique wood
used for the panel, gives the carving an authentic, antique effect!
This panel
is entirely hand carved and painted in rural villages in Cambodia.
Every piece is truly unique!
About the Wood: The
wood used for this panel is antique wood. The artisans purchase second hand
wood beds from locals in or near the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh.
