Cambodian Wood Buddha Panel
The historical Buddha is the embodiment of compassion who, having achieved the
highest evolutionary perfection, turns suffering into happiness for all
living beings.
Lord Buddha is seated on a majestic double lotus throne dressed in reddish and
golden robes. He is in Bhumisparsa Mudra, touching the earth as Gautama
did, to invoke the earth as witness to the truth of his words. His
presence creates a sacred atmosphere. The panel's grandeur produces a state
of deep meditative absorption.
About the Wood: The
wood used for this panel is antique wood. The artisans purchase second
hand wood beds from locals in or near the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh.
