He is also commonly known as Shakyamuni or
Śakyamuni ("sage of the Shakya clan") and as the Tathagata
("thus-come-one").
Shakyamuni is the fourth Buddha of the Fortune Aeon. He was the fully
Awakened one. Shakya Tubba was born in Lambini, Nepal. Gautama
Buddha, the Lord of Shakyas or lion of the Shakya clan. He is a
historical figure and the founder of Buddhism.
The face of the Buddha is painted with 18k gold. The gold
is crushed into a powder and then made into a paste. The gold paste is
mixed with an organic paint mixture then used to paint the most
important part of any Buddha statue; the face.
