This life size Buddha is seated in dhyana asana also known as meditative pose. In this position the legs are crossed, closely locked with the soles of both feet visible. He is seated on a viswapadmasana, a throne or pedestal where the lotus petals are arranged in a double row. The lotus seat upon which Lord Buddha sits symbolizes His divine origin. This wood sculpture is a one of a kind statue, hand carved by the artists of Bali, Indonesia.
