Garuda is
a man bird, the mount of Vishnu. He is often found kneeling before
Vishnu’s shrines. In the Buddhist Pantheon, he may serve as the
vehicle for Amoghsiddhi. He is almost always represented as human,
except for large wings which fold out from his shoulders. Sometimes he
is represented with the head of a bird.
